First: the same Wi-Fi

Your iPhone and the TV must be on the same Wi-Fi. Guest networks and some mesh networks keep devices apart.
The TV must be on, not asleep.
Open Settings › Fjernbetjening on your iPhone and turn on Local Network.
If the search doesn't work, tap Enter IP address in the app and type the TV's address. You'll find it in the TV's network settings.

Does it cost anything?: No. Fjernbetjening is free, with no subscription, ads or in-app purchases.
Why can't it find my TV?: Your iPhone and the TV must be on the same Wi-Fi, and the TV must be on. Guest networks often keep devices apart. See the help for your TV below.
Does it work with Apple TV?: No. Control Apple TV with the remote in Control Center on your iPhone.
Can I turn on a TV that's off?: Not yet. For TVs that can wake over the network, that's coming in a later version.
